The meaning of I AM HIV+:
Everyone can actually be HIV+, because besides representing positive, indicating HIV infection as a classification, the '+' symbol also represents connection, mutual support, and a positive attitude towards facing AIDS. Because of this '+', it should not only be a disease classification but also a connection to interpersonal relationships such as family, sexuality, workplace, medical care, and social welfare, rather than isolation.
AIDS is closer to us than we think. We might be friends, classmates, family members, or even intimate partners of people living with HIV. Under the same sky, regardless of age, gender/sexual orientation, or nationality/ethnicity, we are all striving to live our lives, and we need to get closer through understanding.
Our '+' plus you tells the world that '+' is connection, not isolation. We stand with people living with HIV.
